The market is held between 8-10 March. In ancient time, this market was the single most important market for the citizens where they bought and sold most of the year’s merchandise.
The market was held in the winter because it was easier travelling over the countryside with horse and sledge. Today the three day winter feast is celebrating the ancient bond and trading traditions in between Jämtland and Tröndelag in Norway.
You can even meet the old traders, a project has resumed the ancient traditions and you can travel to the market by sledge.
